Volunteer with us!

Our volunteers are the heart of our organization  -  in fact, they are the organization! They provide the energy, skills and elbow grease that goes into mobilizing voters and electing Democrats to our public offices. There are plenty of ways to get involved, and we need you more than ever. Check out the opportunities below, and find what suits you.

Neighborhood GOTV (get out the vote!)
Each election cycle, volunteers in our “Neighborhood Leader Program” reach out to their Dem neighbors to get out the vote. Just before each election, the volunteer contacts and follows up with their assigned 35 Democratic households, encouraging them to vote, and delivering HRCD slate cards. Get to know your Dem neighbors and GOTV at the same time! Takes about 6 hours each election cycle.

Be a PCP (precinct committee person)
PCPs are our neighborhood-level “ambassadors.” They engage Dem friends/neighbors to learn about and help with upcoming elections, and to join us for social and political events. PCPs also act as HRCD’s “board,” attending hybrid monthly meetings (as possible), and voting on policies, officers and budget. Takes about 1 hour per month.

Candidate & election support
Examples: write letters/postcards; deliver yard signs; canvass, phonebank, and text with/for candidates; write letters-to-the-editor; serve as an election protection observer; register voters.

Event support
Plan, organize, and/or help at our social and candidate-related events.

“Office” support you can do from home
Examples: research, data management, emailing, printing, phoning.

Political advocacy
Our “Take Action” team members receive political action items by email, then make calls, write emails, or take other needed actions, either on their own or in the company of friends.

Mark the areas below you’d like to help with, and we’ll gladly get you plugged in!
